Saturdays Football Betting
March 13th, 2010 by Bob
There are some great games this weekend and I’m looking forward to a successful (hopefully) weekend of betting!
In the Premier League Arsenal looks to be a banker against Hull after their midweek thumping of Porto. Man Unt. Should also do the business against Fulham with Rooney’s impressive run of form and Chelsea look set for 3 points against struggling neighbours West Ham.
I also fancy Spurs to pick up the 3 points in Saturdays early kick-off. Blackburn have only won once on the road this season and that won’t change today!
In the Championship, League Champions Newcastle (sorry - league leaders) take on neighbours Middlesbrough. On paper Newcastle should bury Gordon Strachan Boro, but it never works like that in these fiery local derbies. My gut tells me this will be another Newcastle win but my head tells me to keep well away from this one as anything could happen.
Coventry vs. Plymouth looks a safer bet - with Plymouth almost certain to be relegated and Coventry on a real run of form under Chris Coleman. An easy win for the sky blues.
Swansea also look a good bet against a struggling Sheff. Weds. who have lost the last 4 away games on the bounce.
In League 1 I fancy Bristol Rovers to grab their fourth home straight home win against a struggling Tranmere side who have only won twice on the road.
My picks for this week:
Arsenal away win
Spurs home win
Man Unt. home win
Chelsea home win
Man City away win
Coventry home win
Swansea home win
Bristol Rovers home win

The top 4 in the Premier League didn’t let me down this week; all getting good wins!
Man City’s inconsistent form showed its ugly head again and let me down in Sundays game at the stadium of Light. Spurs now have a couple of points breathing space, but City still have the game in hand.
I didn’t do too well in the lower leagues though; Coventry, Swansea and Bristol Rovers could only manage draws and I was expecting good home wins for them all.
